Hosted another session about gossiping blocks under ZK consensus environments @ [rcnyc3] with @_JonahB_ @blockchaincap. Some key takeaways from the conversation with folks from @boundless_xyz @ethereumfndn and @zksync. Hint: ZK consensus is going to be here much faster than we expect. 🧵

1/ ZK (on Ethereum) is here. It was incredible to learn more about the efficient and performant statistics from the @boundless_xyz team. Current ZK prover networks have the capacity to prove consensus of multiple ETH mainnets, are 10X more price efficient than running provers on centralized AWS setups, and SNARKs can be utilized to compress and prove multiple STARK proofs. As of a couple of days ago, @zksync Airbender sits as the most performant prover based on average time and cost on a single hardware instance.

2/ It was great to hear about @zksync’s new approach for institutions onboarding onto custom blockchains. Institutions will be able to launch prividiums - full ZK-based blockchains that keep data private within their infrastructure, while having complete atomic shared settlement with all other institutional chains in the ZKSync ecosystem.

3/ @corcoranwill led us through some interesting developments for lean Ethereum, especially lean P2P. It is focused on Gossipsub v2, enabling faster block and attestation propagation, optimized data broadcasting, and stronger network security while maintaining decentralization. Some cool innovations include organizing network topology based on peer uptime and responsiveness and introducing a “lazy” pull mechanism for certain types of messages that depend on requests rather than optimistic pushes.
